How do we get started?
You email me and set an appointment to meet. My office is in San Juan Capistrano at Mountain View Church. 32382 Del Obispo Street Suite B3, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675 . If you are out of town, we can meet on the phone or in a video conference. We get to know each other a bit. You decide if you want to use me for your wedding. (I decide if I want to do it!) We design the perfect ceremony for you. We agree on a date and time. You give me a deposit to reserve the date on my calendar. It’s pretty easy.
What information do you need?
I need to know the specific DATE, TIME and LOCATION of your wedding in order to see if I’m even available. Please leave that on the message when you email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or fill out the booking form.
How much do you charge?
My fee for a local wedding is $1000 total, with a $300 deposit due upon booking. It will be more if it is farther away and may be less for last minute or midweek weddings.
I am more expensive than many officiants because I am in very high demand. I do this because I love it and I’m good at what I do. Read my reviews. Please don’t skimp here and go with the cheapest price. No other individual you hire can make or break your wedding like the officiant. I promise you I will do a great job. If you don’t think I’m worth it after the ceremony, I’ll give you your money back (other than the deposit). I promise I'm worth every penny! But if money is tight, I have associates who are half my price who do a great job too!
Do you offer discounts?
I offer discounts for active military personnel, midweek weddings, morning weddings and last minute bookings if I don’t have anything else going on. Email me to check for details. I also have a couple of associates who work with me that can afford to charge less than me. It never hurts to ask!
What is the deal with premarital counseling?
I don't require it and I am not able to do it at this time, but I think it is a great idea! One book I recommend for everyone is called "Keep Your Love On" by Danny Silk. That book will improve all your relationships. Get it and read it! If you want premarital counseling, I recommend Trinity Counseling Ministries or Marriage 365 has an online premarital course that I've heard great things about.
Do you come to the rehearsal?
Typically I don’t need to come to the rehearsal. Wedding coordinators run the show. We will have met by this time and you will have an outline of my part. The rehearsal is mainly for the people walking in to know where to stand. If you need me to be at or run the rehearsal, this can be arranged for an extra fee of $400. If you have a coordinator, save your money.
How long is the average wedding?
15-20 minutes is the basic time once it gets started. If we add extra things in like readings, songs, unity candles or sand, wine blending, etc. it takes a little longer, but never over 30 minutes. It’s long enough to be meaningful, and short enough that no one is worrying about when the cocktail hour starts.
Do you do weddings outside Orange County?
Sometimes. If I feel I can do it I will charge an extra fee for travel time and expense. Usually that is $400 if it is in an adjacent county. It doesn’t hurt to ask. If I can’t do it, I have a few trusted friends that I can refer you to.
What if you get hit by a bus right before our wedding?
Well it hasn’t happened yet, but I have about half a dozen friends who are pastors that I can call on to help fill in for me. If I can’t do your wedding, I will gladly refer my friends. If I agree to do your wedding and something tragic happens, we will help connect you to someone great. Don’t worry.
Do you have a church where you are the actual pastor?
Do you know a good florist, someone for music, photographer, cake place, etc?
